Join Us Now for Dickens on the Square 2019

Join Us!  Starting at 10 a.m., on December 7, Old Town Theatre will present our 2nd Annual Dickens on the Square, but you can participate NOW as we begin forming our committees and making plans for 2019. The Company @ Old Town Theatre and Rising Stars performing arts students will team up for a series of activities from Charles Dicken’s beloved classic, A Christmas Carol, and Victorian characters, carolers, performers and activities will entertain on our outdoor street stage in front of the theatre.

Volunteers don't need experience, just a willingness to have fun and purchase a costume! We need volunteers to help in the Theatre concession stand, set up the morning of the event, host games and activities from our street stage, serve as MC, lead caroling sing-alongs and more! 
Dickens Entertainers
​Are you part of a local choir, handbell choir, band or Gospel group? Give us a call or drop us an email. We'd love to give you a stage at Dickens on the Square! Are you a musician, magician, street entertainer, face painter or artist? Come join us as a member of the Dickens Street Performers Troupe.

Want to dress up and participate, but don’t want a big commitment? No experience is necessary! Old Town Theatre Street Performers just need to be in character for Dickens on the Square on December 7. The following positions are available, and you can sign up NOW to participate.

​Sign up deadline for Dickens Street Performers is Saturday Nov. 2, at 5 p.m.
All participants are required to participate in several short prep sessions at Old Town Theatre during the week of Nov. 25-29 and provide their own costume (rental or purchase). Families and children of all ages welcome! All participants receive two FREE tickets to a Performance(s) of A Christmas Carol!

Even if you’re not a performer, you can participate in the festivities! Want to dress up for Dickens on the Square or as a Christmas volunteer at Old Town? Theatre Rentals
Need a costume or props, but don’t want to buy? Old Town Theatre has a limited supply of Victorian dresses, top hats, men’s frock coats and more for RENT at reasonable prices for the Christmas festivities. Prop and Costume Reserve Days:

NOTE: We support anyone who wants to dress in costume for Dickens on the Square, but we respectfully request that you refrain from dressing as Charles Dickens, Father Christmas, any Dickens characters or the Royal Court unless you sign up to participate with Old Town Theatre’s Dickens Street Performers Troupe.
